Allah says, ‘By means of water, we give life to everything.’ [Qur’an 21:30]
Just as a mother gives, birth, life is born and reborn through means of water.
Our beloved Muslim Mamas may have passed away, but their love and legacy go on living.
This Ramadan, we intend to build as many water wells as possible, as a form of sadqah jaariya, for them and us, helping to support thousands of people across the world.

Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?”
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.” [Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 3664]
Clean water is one of the most important things that our bodies need to be able to survive, as water makes up roughly 70% of our body.
But roughly 780 million people (11% of the world’s population) do not have access to a clean water source (CDC), leaving them exposed to diarrheal diseases, malnutrition, exposure to chemicals and faecal matter, sickness and so many more problems.
To make it even worse, women and children are often forced to walk for hours, carrying heavy containers of dirty, dangerous water back to their homes, leaving them vulnerable to back problems, bone issues, human and animal attacks, burns (from the intense heat) and other similar issues. Children then miss out on vital education as a result of this daily chore.
We want to help change this and help women regain their lives and help children regain their education.
That’s why, this Ramadan, in partnership with Salam Charity, Muslim Mamas will be helping to build deep water wells in Bangladesh, Ghana and Pakistan, community boreholes in Ghana and rehabilitating wells in Yemen.
With your help, we can stop 100s of children dying under the age of 5 from diarrheal diseases, we can keep women and children safe and we can change the lives of generations to come insha’Allah!
May Allah accept our efforts, forgive all our sins, and reunite us with our loved ones without any accountability in the Hereafter, in the highest stations of jannah, ameen.
Please donate to this worthy cause in honour of all mothers. We can all share in this life-giving cause, reaping the rewards of sadaqah in both worlds, inshaAllah.
Please note, this fundraiser accepts zakah too.
