Our Team

Nargis Jahan Uddin

Nargis Jahan Uddin‘s photo of her son’s sleeping position was the inspiration behind this amazing community – the ‘bum that launched a thousand mums’! She understood the sheer frustration, exhaustion and deep loneliness that mothers endeavoured in motherhood and thus founded Muslim Mamas Facebook group in 2011, providing a safe ‘network at your fingertips’; connecting mothers through shared experience, knowledge and validation. Nargis expanded her team to help manage the groups effectively, segmenting the groups by interests and controlling the membership admissions for ‘quality over quantity’. Muslim Mamas has been operating voluntarily for over a decade, with multiple safe spaces catering for mamas everywhere.

Nafisa Rahimi

Nafisa Rahimi joined as Co-founder in 2018 after four years of being an Admin, and has been instrumental in creating, developing and implementing the corporate elements of Muslim Mamas. As the strategic leader, she is representing Muslim Mamas on the Facebook Community Accelerator Program 2021 where she successfully passed the gruelling, three-stage interview process single-handedly (amongst thousands of applicants worldwide), and is being mentored and trained by Founders Intelligence whilst already securing funding from Global Giving. She is currently working towards securing further funding in order to scale, build strategic partnerships and achieve long-term sustainability. Muslim Mamas is one of 10 groups from the UK accepted onto the program , one of 131 applicants worldwide across 9 regions, representing less than 1% of the selected elite global leaders.

Nafisa is passionate about providing relevant services in order to amplify and empower Muslim mamas everywhere. Her podcast, educational, media and business platforms are now under the Muslim Mamas umbrella.
